Sustainability at BFPL

The vision for Brookfield Place was to create a vibrant cultural precinct in the heart of Perth where business, culture, community and entertainment could be celebrated. With the completion of Tower 2, this vision was realised to dynamic effect.

Stage one of the revitalisation involved the construction of the iconic Tower 1 and the restoration of five heritage buildings on St Georges Terrace. Stage 2 incorporated the development of Tower 2, which was conceived and designed to be a masterpiece of refined elegance; a commercial landmark and the illuminated riverside gateway to Brookfield Place.

The development also included construction of a new pedestrian footbridge over Mounts Bay Road to link Brookfield Place with the Brookfield-owned EY building. This facilitated greater connectivity for office workers and commuters moving between St Georges Terrace, through Brookfield Place and to the public transport and event hubs of Elizabeth Quay and the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC).

From the outset, Brookfield was committed to achieving a ‘best practice’ result for Brookfield Place. Brookfield aimed to excel in design, engineering, placemaking and operational solutions, capable of supporting excellence in workplace.
