Luke Geha
Luke began studying music at age 6 when he started learning the cello, quickly realising his knack and passion for music Luke excelled, attaining a music scholarship at Hale School where he continued his studies and found the piano. Falling in love with the instrument, Luke saw music to be the main area of concern in his studies and achieved the most promising young talent in jazz award at the WAAPA jazz camp in 2016 as well as being appointed Music Captain of Hale School in the academic year of 2019. Whilst being a member of the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra since 2018. Luke is currently perusing music, completing a Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz with hopes to complete a further study through a Master of Teaching at the conclusion of his music degree.

Cameron Fermoyle
Cameron Fermoyle is taking the Perth music scene by storm. In 2019, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the Brubeck Institute in California, where he worked alongside many prolific musicians, including Carl Allen and Patrick Langham. Cameron has performed with a range of groups, including the Perth Cabaret Collective, The Amnesiacs, the WAAPA Young Artists Ensemble, the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra, and has played alongside the likes of Mariel Bildsten and Jamie Oehlers. Cameron is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), and has just returned from a semester exchange at the prestigious Frost School of Music in Miami, Florida.

Isaac Reynolds
Isaac Reynolds is an accomplished bassist pursuing a Bachelor of Music with Honours at WAAPA, majoring in Jazz. Isaac has a versatile musical background, with an extensive foundation in classical music, particularly through his study of Suzuki violin as an adolescent. Throughout his current degree, Isaac has honed his skills as a versatile multi-instrumentalist and teacher. A dedicated musician, his passion lies in composition, particularly within the realm of modal jazz. With an unwavering commitment to his craft and a diverse musical background, Isaac Reynolds continues to excel as he explores and contributes to the dynamic world of jazz music.

Tayah Crothers
Growing up in a family of musicians and entertainers, Tayah Crothers has loved music from a young age and since then has developed her skills in the areas of singing, dancing and acting. This has lead her to graduate from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Diploma in Musical Theatre. Tayah now studies a Bachelor of Music at WAAPA, specialising in Jazz Vocals and has recently had the privilege of completing the NYU Jazz Summer Program in New York City.

Cass Evans-Ocharern
Cass Evans-Ocharern is an Electric and Double Bass Player from Perth/Boorloo. Currently in his 4th Year at WAAPA (Bachelor of Jazz), Cass works as a sideman and session musician. He also runs a contemporary band called Storefront.

Aiden Moroney
Aiden Moroney is a talented up-and-coming jazz guitarist hailing from the Southwest. At twenty-two years old, Aiden’s musical journey includes performances alongside Jazz luminaries Will Vinson and Frank Gambale during his time at WAAPA, and opening for renowned artist James Reyne as a teenager. Aiden’s expressive jazz performance has taken him across Perth and the Southwest, performing at various venues and touring with WAYJO.

Vince Umbers
Growing up in the small village of Bogan Gate NSW before moving to Perth to study music, singer-songwriter Vince Umbers has been writing melodies since his early childhood. With a musical style similar to that of Dean Lewis, Vince brings an honesty and rawness to his songs that take the listener on an emotional journey. Sweet melodies and soaring choruses are found throughout his tracks underpinned by pleasant piano riffs and airy guitar strums. Vince is currently enjoying playing gigs around Perth and hopes to release new music by the end of the year.

Lucinda Poy
Lucinda Poy is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Brisbane. She just moved to Perth this year with a position in WAAPA’s Advanced Music Artist Course and is planning on releasing her music on Triple J early next year. Her original music and relatable lyrics are similar to artists alike Taylor Swift and Maggie Rogers, and her vocals have a unique Indie-Rock style. Lucinda won the Wynnum Fringe Festival Competition in Brisbane for performing her original music and has performance experience in Bundaberg and New Zealand.

Anika Lawrence
Anika Louise is 19-year-old emerging contemporary singer/songwriter and guitarist based in Perth. Busking and performing for seven years, this current WAAPA Music Artist student was a 2019 Fairbridge Festival Song writing Quest finalist, 2019/20 WAM Song Of The Year nominee, was 1 of only 10 chosen artists to record an original song on the 2020 WAM Demos From Binjareb regional recording project, won the 2022 Gozzy Rock Underground Sounds competition and opened for the Perth Symphony Orchestra at the 2023 City of Gosnells Pop’N’Rock Symphony concert.

Maya Spilsbury-Slee
Maya has been performing for the last few years and in that time has cemented herself as an upcoming name to watch in the Western Australian music scene. She has been a regular performer at festivals such as the Nannup Music Festival, Country Sounds Music Festival and Out of the Woods Festival, opened for well-known artists such as the Hoodoo Gurus, Jon Stevens, Kallidad, Don’t Change – Ultimate INXS, Fieldsy, Joan & The Giants and Mitchell Martin, toured up north playing shows all the way from Perth-to-Broome, performed live on national television for Telethon, released five singles which have accumulated over 95,000 streams, and was even shortlisted for The Voice Australia in 2016.

Curtis Hardwick
Curtis Hardwick is a singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist based in Perth, WA. Hardwick’s solo works blend the sweet and melancholic stylings of folk, whilst also drawing from the rhythms and melodies of soul and RnB. As a guitarist, he brings psychedelic and blissful textures to the folk-rock sound of up-and-coming local band, Raymondouu. Alongside his bandmates, he has had the privilege of opening for popular artists, including Australian pop outfit Telenova during their recent national tour. Hardwick currently is completing an Advanced Diploma in Music Performance at WAAPA, specialising in bass and vocals.

Emma Scanlon
Emma Scanlon is a singer/songwriter originally from Queensland but currently based in Perth completing her bachelor’s degree in Contemporary music (voice) at WAAPA. Over her 4 years stay in the West, she has performed for many audiences in groups and as a solo artist under the name, Darling Joan. Her Original works present themes of self-exploration and doubt, uncomfortable truths, the humdrum of life itself and the beauty in simplicity. Joan pedals through a melting pot of Jazz, Folk and soul in the hopes of fashioning a unified nostalgia. Her writing techniques and vocal stylings mirror that of Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Madison Cunningham.

Ellie Edwards
Eleanor Edwards is a 23 year old musician from Perth, Western Australia. She is a 4th year student at WAAPA studying a Bachelor of Contemporary Voice, set to graduate at the end of 2023. Eleanor has been enthusiastic about music from a young age, and loves exploring vocal versatility through lots of genres including rock, jazz, pop, R&B and folk to name a few. She is an especially passionate songwriter, and since 2019, has been releasing alternative singer/songwriter and folk music, and gigging under the stage name ‘NoraElle’. She’s also the lead singer for newly-founded alternative prog rock band ‘lovemenot’.

Josiah Hunter
Josiah’s rhythmic journey began in his teenage years and continues to shape his adult life, filled with musical joy through drumming.
While not born into a musical family, Josiah’s fascination sparked from observing church drummers and led him to lessons with a local
congregational member. Since then, Josiah has had the privilege of studying under various teachers, including Dan Gullaci, Dan Caddy, Ric Eastman, and most recently, Mark Charters.
Currently studying the contemporary performance degree at WAAPA, Josiah is soaking in the unique cultural richness and knowledge of his
teachers and peers.

Renae Griffiths
Currently studying at WAAPA, Perth born bass player Renae Griffiths, is a regular in the localmusic scene. Having spent her teenage years to now, learning and writing with variousinstruments, she has worked with a wide range of projects spanning genres from classical,concert band and jazz fusion through to alternative rock and indie singer-songwriters. This hasseen her travel throughout the state to perform professionally, playing venues including TheBird, The Rosemount Hotel and The Perth Concert Hall and travel internationally to compete at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Jasper Willans
Jasper Willans is a contemporary guitarist working in Perth and simultaneously studying a
Bachelor of music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Jasper performs professionally in duo groups and full band ensembles to deliver energetic and entertaining sets of music, performed at a high standard. Jasper began his musical journey as a classical guitar player, performing and competing as a group leader in a classical guitar ensemble, however his primary passion is contemporary electric guitar.

Arvis Mena Lescay
Arvis Jose Mena Lescay is a versatile and accomplished musician, born in Havana, Cuba. His musical journey began at the age of 8 when he started playing the piano. Over the years, Arvis has specialized in Afro Cuban Rhythms and has performed with various bands in genres ranging from jazz and salsa to rock and Latin fusion. He has also been teaching popular bass guitar styles for over a decade.
In 2010, Arvis moved to Australia, where he has collaborated with local and international artists and played in notable festivals. Currently, he is studying at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, pursuing a Bachelor of Music with a major in Jazz. Arvis is known for his captivating performances and soulful vocals, making a lasting impact on audiences.

Aiden Moroney
Aiden Moroney is a talented up-and-coming jazz guitarist hailing from the Southwest. Dusan Cuculoski
Dušan is an up-and-coming trumpet player currently completing his final year of undergraduate studies in jazz at WAAPA. He regularly performs around Perth with several bands such as the Mace Francis Orchestra, the 950 Express, and the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra with whom he went on exchange to the SHOWA University in Tokyo. Drawing on a wide range of musical influences, he plays homage to the great jazz trumpet players of the past and the present.
